- 14% is recycled
- 43%  is used for asphalt base
- 12% is used in power plants
- 12% is used in steell mills
- 5% is used in cement factories
- 5% is used in navy steam boilers
- 4% is used for wood and paper processing
- 4% is used in other ways

In favour for a usage of used motor oil as an enrgy resource is the fact thart from 9 gallons of this oil enough eletricity is produced for ordinary house chores throughout the day or:
- making 48 meals in a microwave oven
- drying your hair 216 times
- Cleaning the house with a vacuum cleaner for 15 months
- watvhing the television for 180 hours
